If that was directed at me, I do not recall. I think you can, but you would have to do some research to be sure. If you climb up there, and there is no small blue thing with the "dip" switches, but instead there is a greenish colored button, then you have the later model learning opener, and I am not sure if you can just buy a generic remote for that. They worked great for several years until the actual openers stopped working, at which point I had to buy new garage door openers that came with new remotes. But the regular remotes bit the dust, so I ordered some generic tiny single button remotes that used "dip" switches, and set them up to open the doors. I had two older Sears model garage door openers at my house, and they were the "dip" switch type. You would just need to set the switches on the new remote to the same positions as the opener. It doesn't matter as long as the remote has the same number of "dip" switches. You could buy a three button remote, or even the tiny single button remote. Get a ladder out, and check the back of the garage door main unit installed in the ceiling.Īs LB-1911 has said, if your opener is an older one, and you see a little blue colored thing with about 9 or 10 small "dip" switches, then you can pretty much purchase any door remote that has the same "dip" switches in it. Reversing the arrival process, this innovation allows arriving passengers who did not check bags to by-pass the baggage claim lobby congestion and go directly to the express kerb for an expedited pick-up. This would be the first of its kind at any airport. This plan creates an innovative express kerbside roadway that allows departing passengers with carry-on only baggage to choose an express kerbside providing access directly to security screening and gates. ![]() The airport’s existing kerbsides are reaching maximum capacity and more kerbside length and lanes are necessary to handle current and future peak-hour demand. ![]() A survey indicated that more than 53 per cent of passengers at TPA do not check their bags. Phase 2 is where TPA, in collaboration with HNTB, is developing a unique express kerbside design solution to manage the increased traffic. Phase 3 includes the construction of a new Airside D with 16 gates capable of handling both domestic and international flights. The expansion will include new express lanes for passengers without checked luggage. The commercial development area will feature an office building, convenience store with a petrol station, a hotel, a commercial kerb to accommodate transit and other ground transportation, and connections to regional transit networks. Phase 2 includes a kerbside expansion and 17-acre commercial development around the rental car centre. The first phase, completed in 2018, helped decongest kerbsides, roads and the main terminal, and included a 2.6 million-square-foot rental car centre, a 1.4-mile automated people mover and an expansion of the main terminal. The final three-phase plan allows the airport to accommodate up to 34 million passengers each year. To find a solution to airport congestion issues, officials at TPA in late 2011 began updating the airport’s master plan. Year-on-year, this traffic has seen an eight to 10 per cent increase. Passenger numbers will see a steady increase of 2.8 per cent annually, to 28.7 million by the year 2031.Īs passenger numbers grow, one of the most affected areas has been vehicle traffic, including kerbside drop-off areas, where an influx of transit network company (TNC) vehicles have added to congestion. In 2018, capacity hit an all-time high, with 21 million passengers passing through TPA, and 2019 is expected to see nearly 21.7 million passengers. With 58 gates, three runways and 23,000 parking spaces, the 3,300-acre facility boasts about 500 daily operations, making it one of the top 30 busiest airports in the U.S. ![]() Like most major airports, Tampa International Airport (TPA) faces growing passenger traffic and congestion issues. ![]() Thankfully, someone invented the smartphone. It was painful, particularly if you were struggling to get something working. This is in marked contrast to previous Harmony devices, which required you to plug the remote into a PC every time you wanted to change the settings. ![]() The latter is important, since it’s this unit that handles communication with other devices – for instance, those not controlled by infrared. Included in the box is the charging dock – the remote uses built-in rechargeable batteries – and the Harmony Hub. It’s a decent start, but there’s more to the Harmony Elite than the remote alone. A 2.4-inch touchscreen adds contextual information, such as shortcuts to channels with their logos, when watching TV. It’s weighted perfectly, the coarse plastic rear is pleasantly grippy, and the buttons have a defined click. Logitech is good at making things and the Harmony Elite is a reminder as to why. It’s pricey, but it’s a must-have gadget for any smart-home adopter. Philips Hue, Sonos, Nest, Samsung SmartThings all work, to name just a few. Sure, it controls your TV and AV equipment like other universal remotes, but with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth it’s able to control other smart devices too. It’s a universal remote, but one for the smart-home generation. The Logitech Harmony Elite will do all that at the touch of a single button. You just want to curl up on the sofa, turn up the heating, dim the lights and relax with some Netflix or mood music. ![]() Although this enhancement of GABAergic transmission has not been shown to be causal to sleepiness or long sleep durations in patients with IH, biological plausibility is demonstrated by the known GABAergic mechanisms of sleep onset and maintenance, as well as the prominent role of GABA-A receptor agonists/modulators in the production of pharmacologic sleep and anesthesia ( 9– 12). Cerebrospinal fluid from patients with IH, and several other central disorders of hypersomnolence, has been shown to enhance activity at GABA-A receptors in vitro, in excess of that of cerebrospinal fluid from controls ( 8). Hypocretin deficiency, known to cause narcolepsy type 1, is not present in patients with IH ( 7). While presumably not all of these individuals would meet diagnostic criteria for idiopathic hypersomnia, it is clear that the symptoms of IH are not uncommon.Īs the name “idiopathic” hypersomnia implies, the pathophysiology of IH is presently unknown. Using a questionnaire-based algorithm, Ohayon et al have demonstrated that the symptom of excessive sleepiness, associated with irresistible daytime naps, multiple naps in the same day, non-restorative nocturnal sleep of at least 9 hours, or difficulty waking after sleep, is present in 0.5% of the population ( 6). As such, the true prevalence of IH is unknown. Clinic-based estimates of IH prevalence are limited by differing referral patterns and biases, such that estimates of the relative frequency of IH to narcolepsy with cataplexy vary substantially, anywhere from 1:10 to greater than 1:1 ( 1– 5). Population-based estimates of the frequency of IH are difficult to obtain, given the requirements for electrophysiologic testing and ruling out of other disorders that may cause similar symptoms. Idiopathic hypersomnia (IH) is a chronic neurologic disorder that manifests as pathologic daytime sleepiness with or without prolonged sleep durations. Even with current treatment options, quality of life and safety may remain impaired in patients with this challenging chronic disease. A substantial fraction of IH patients are refractory or intolerant to standard treatments, and different treatment strategies, employing novel therapeutics, are necessary in these cases. Modafinil is first line and supported by two randomized, controlled trials in IH patients. There are no FDA-approved treatments for IH symptoms, which are typically treated with off-label use of medications approved for narcolepsy. Diagnosis of IH involves a careful clinical history, with particular attention to the possibility of other disorders with similar symptomatology, and objective testing with actigraphy, polysomnography, and multiple sleep latency testing. Dysfunction of autonomic, inflammatory, or immune systems has been proposed, and patients with IH have been found to have an endogenous modulator of GABA-A receptors within their cerebrospinal fluid. The cause of idiopathic hypersomnia is presently unknown, although a genetic predisposition is suggested by the strong family history of similar symptoms. Idiopathic hypersomnia (IH) is a chronic neurological disorder that results in daytime sleepiness, frequently accompanied by long nocturnal or daytime sleep, unrefreshing sleep, difficulty in awakening, cognitive dysfunction, and autonomic symptoms. ![]() ![]() These things retail for £180 which is a lot of money (even if they are a great boot). Obviously, this comes with time so unable to provide an honest assessment, however, with Salomon’s 2-year warranty - you’re covered. I personally am happy to trade a few grams in weight for the extra ankle support, they still feel light enough (yet to try them over a long distance). These things don’t budge and what’s even better is when you get home, the dirt falls out of the tread, due to the wide grip pattern.Īt around 650 grams per boot (size 9 UK) I would suggest they are a mid-weight boot. I walked the same route I have walked for years with my old boots and the difference is chalk and cheese. For someone like me, that is a big bonus.įinally, the boot keeps the foot in one place, preventing unwanted sliding when walking down the hill this should protect those little piggies from bruising up. It's great as it allows the user to be confident treading on uneven ground. The profile is quite chunky at the heel and toe areas. The slightly recessed lace eyelets enable you to draw the back of the boot in as you tighten the laces creating a nice firm wrap-around feel. It supports well while not cutting off the circulation. This is where the boot comes into its own for me. Note: At this point slightly off topic, I want to remind you that the socks you choose, play a big part in comfort so don’t skimp in that area. Whilst I won’t be so bold as to say they are the comfiest things I’ve ever tried on as some reviewers would, they are very comfortable, and I believe a bit of breaking in will only increase the comfort level. I am a size 9 and tried both the 8.5 and size 9’s on, the size 9 had a little extra toe room whilst still being snug in all the right places. They fit true to shoe size in my opinion. However, I’m sure the boot will relax after a bit of use and the toe section is nice, plenty of room to allow for ample toe wiggle. So those of you with really wide feet might not find them that comfortable. I felt they were slightly narrower around the mid-section than the previous boots I’ve owned. I went for all black versions as I like to keep my boots clean and thought that the darker color would show dirt a bit less than the alternatives. When I first opened the box, I thought it was a nice looking boot without blowing my mind. This was music to my ears, so I decided to give them a go. The key points that kept coming up were "comfortable, stable, supportive" etc. While I take information from those sites with a pinch of salt, these boots kept cropping up on many sites, so I decided to look through some consumer reviews. I read through various websites publishing surveys on the “top 10 hiking boots” or claims of that nature. Did I want it to look good? Of course, but this was a secondary requirement. I was looking for a solid boot with a stable base and good ankle support (for my glass left ankle) that would be suitable for long-distance hiking over various terrain while carrying weight. ![]() Your local environment - hills, buildings, being in a basement or underground will all affect your cell signal. You start your day of henching and extortion by trying to retrieve a sacred sword – the Nobitsura Kage. You play “Lo Wang” (seriously), a reboot of the character from the original game, voiced by some guy who I suspect is in fact not from Asia. Actually I suppose that’s not really a buddy cop movie at all, but I’m too committed to give up on the comparison now. Shadow warrior is kind of like a buddy cop movie – only one of the cops is an immortal, banished demon, and the other is a sword master, closet nerd, and henchmen for an evil mob boss. Is this another cash in on nostalgia, or something more? Now, 16 years later, Shadow Warrior is back – re-imagined, re-charged and… uh… re-updated by independent polish studio Flying Wild Hog (who previously brought us Hard Reset). It was also a great game (and is now available for free on Steam!). They, in fact, made Shadow Warrior, essentially a Duke 3D Total Conversion with vastly more casual racism and a wafer thin plot. Hannah credits the success of the Caramel Macchiato to her dedicated team. “I never thought, honestly, none of us ever thought that it would become such a huge hit,” Hannah said. But it proved to be far more popular than her team could have imagined and has become a menu staple. The initial plan was to offer the Caramel Macchiato for just a few weeks. “When I got a sign-off on, you would not believe how happy I was,” Hannah said. They tried out more than 30 different iterations. She and a handful of fellow partners spent around 10 months working on the beverage, from the first concept to the finished product. Not only did she need to perfect the taste, she also had to make sure the caramel stayed on top of the foam-which proved to be the most challenging part. The first step? “Coming up with a silky, velvety caramel sauce,” Hannah said. Hannah Su, a 21-year partner (employee) who developed the iconic drink, said they wanted to create something special to mark Starbucks 25th anniversary. The Caramel Macchiato debuted in the fall of 1996, back when Starbucks had around 1,000 stores. (An Almondmilk Latte Macchiato is my current go-to drink.) The espresso creates a small chestnut-colored circle in the center of the crisp, white microfoam. Instead of topping the drink with foam, our baristas start with steamed whole milk, and then slowly pour espresso shots over it. This is essentially the inverse of an Espresso Macchiato. The bold, rich drink-sometimes referred to simply as a Macchiato within the coffee industry-comes in two sizes: A solo contains one shot of espresso and a doppio has two. In its purest form, an Espresso Macchiato begins with our espresso it’s then marked with a dollop of foam. Did you know Macchiato means “marked” in Italian? This idea of marking a beverage, like with a dot of espresso or a caramel design, has inspired Starbucks to create some delicious drinks. Consider the following the results of my espresso-fueled research. The Macchiato-its history and evolution-has been my latest obsession. One of the things I love most about coffee is discovering the stories behind it. |
